PTI terms Khattak’s allegations pack of lies
KARACHI: Reacting to the recent statement of estranged leader Pervez Khattak, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has termed it as baseless, absurd and pack of lies.
Taking the official twitter handle of PTI, the party gave a strong reaction, saying Pervez Khattak is attempting to mislead the nation by levelling allegations against the PTI and its chief after stepping down from the party offices.
“Pervez Khattak is holding Imran Khan responsible for May 9 incidents, which is a blatant lie, baseless and absurd,” tweeted the PTI’s spokesperson, adding Pervez Khattak was on board with all the party’s decisions as president, PTI KP chapter, besides he was also in contact with the establishment.
The PTI spokesperson said that after holding the post May 09 press conference, Khattak has started perceiving all decisions of Imran Khan wrong.
If he had disagreed with any of party decisions, he should have resigned from the party’s membership and office then and there. What made him wait till May 9 for expressing his dissent, asked the PTI spokesperson.
He claimed: “The nation witnesses that PTI chief Imran Khan has always talked of peaceful protest during his 27-year political struggle. PTI organized more than 100 rallies during one-and-a-half-year but not a single flowerpot was broken.”
The spokesman further claimed: “Imran Khan called off November 26 and 27 sit-ins keeping in view of unforeseen incident. Despite of assassination bid on the life of Imran Khan, no violent incident took place across the country.
“Imran Khan was in the custody of the state at the time of May 9 riots and he was not in contact of anyone,” posted PTI on its official Twitter account.
Pervez Khattak was served a show-cause notice on instigating party leaders for quitting the PTI, said the party’s spokesperson, adding he should decide about his future course of action whether he wants to stay in the party or not.
“Pervez Khattak is perhaps paving a way for a key position in the new Kings Party by making the allegations. He is well aware that his political career has come to an end after quitting PTI. He cannot restore his lost credibility by levelling false allegations on the party and its chief Imran Khan,” added the PTI spokesperson.
The nation has already rejected the turncoats, said the PTI spokesperson, adding Pervez Khattak and other defectors would be further disgraced by adopting such tactics.
