Musharraf allowed to go abroad under a deal: Malik
KARACHI: Former chief minister Balochistan Dr Abdul Malik has claimed that General (retd) Pervez Musharraf was allowed to go abroad under a deal.
Addressing a ceremony of the Baloch Bar Association on Saturday in Karachi, Dr Malik said it was not just to allow him to go abroad.
About problems facing the people of Balochistan, he said most of the problems have been solved in his tenure but currently the country was facing some challenges of serious nature.
He said, "It was our responsibility to strengthen the state institutions."
The incidents of abduction for ransom have increased from Quetta to Belarus and from Khuzdar to Jacobabad, and about 73 gangs were involved in it.
Dr Malik said the provincial issues were being solved at federal level and it is need of the hour to strength the state by giving provinces their rights.
Those who accept writ of the state and disarm themselves should be pardoned. It would help defeat the armed anti-country forces, he added.
