Shoaib Suddle wants to stay at official residence

ISLAMABAD: Dr Shoaib Suddle has sent a letter to the government to charge market rent for his official residence as he does not want to vacate it after his retirement due to security concerns.
Shoaib Suddle, who had done his doctorate in White Collar Criminology from the University of Wales, is currently residing in a government residence in Sector F-8 where he has not been provided any security cover from the government.
Official record showed that he has so far written two letters to the Ministry of Housing and Works in which he requested that he has been facing threats from various quarters due to which he did not want to vacate his current government residence.
He asked the government to charge monthly rent for the official residence according to the market rate till construction of his own house is completed in next few months.An official said the residence in which Dr Suddle is currently residing has been allotted to a serving judge but if he wants to pay monthly rent for some time due to security reasons then he is likely to be given this facility in line with the provisions of law.
Dr Suddle was a senior member of the Police Service of Pakistan and has served at various important positions in the federal and provincial governments.When contacted, Dr Suddle told The News that he is facing threats due to which he wants to live in his current official residence for some more time.
To a question, he said the government has not provided him any kind of security so he thinks unless construction of his own house is completed he should reside at the current residence.He said he was allotted this official residence in 1995 when he was posted in Sindh and till then his family has been living in this house.
