Islamabad: Minister of State for Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhary on Wednesday said that women's education was imperative for progress and development.
Addressing a seminar regarding Women's Day held at Islamabad Model College for Girls, G 6/1, he said that Islam has given immense rights to the women who had been striving to bring change in society.
Referring to the role of women in the Pakistan Movement, he said Pakistani nation can compete the world by empowering its women.
Dr Tariq Fazal further said the women's role in society was very important as they were more than 50% of the population. He said it was not wise to leave half of the population unutilised in national development pursuits.
The minister said the federal government was making all out efforts for the women empowerment and education, he said and added, the women protection bill passed by the Punjab Assembly was an example in this regard.
The minister of state hoped that other provinces would also take necessary step for the women's rights.
