Five arrested for decanting

OKARA: On the directions of the DCO, a campaign has been launched against decanting in the district.

The civil defence officer and police raided and arrested five people Muhammad Arshad, Mushtaq Hussain of Mandi Ahmadabad, Imran, Liaqat Ali of Basirpur and Parvez Ahmad on the charges of illegally refilling gas cylinders. Police have registered separate cases against the accused on the report of CDO Farooq Irshad. The campaign has been launched after a gas cylinder exploded during refilling at Depalpur three days ago. A passerby was killed and three others were injured in the incident.

 

Three killed in collision between bus, motorcycle-rickshaw

OKARA: Three people were killed and another was injured in a road accident near Youngpur village on Tuesday.

A bus (BB-2899) was coming to the city from Faisalabad when it collided with a motorcycle-rickshaw (OKK-6501). As a result, three motorcycle-rickshaw passengers Noor Ahmad, Muhammad Ayub and Muhammad Amir were killed on the spot while Muhammad Yasin was injured. The injured man was rushed to the DHQ Hospital. Gogera police have registered a case and started investigation.
