Protest against power shutdown

LALAMUSA: People on Friday protested against the Gepco for observing electricity loadshedding whole day without any prior notice.
The protesters belonging to Kaka Sahib and City feeders chanted slogans against the Gepco authorities for suspending power supply without informing them through notice. They said that they also faced water shortage problem due to disconnection of power supply to Municipal Committee water turbines. They demanded immediate restoration of power supply. Meanwhile, thieves stole 200KV transformer from Khawaspur Road, which caused power shutdown in different areas. When contacted, the Gepco SE was not available, however, the XEN said that electricity was suspended from the grid station and expressed hope that the power supply would be restored soon.

LALAMUSA: The city received heavy rain followed by thunderstorm here on Friday.
The rain continued with regular intervals, which inundated various roads and streets of the city. The rainwater entered into the houses of low-lying areas including Jogi Mohallah, Tanki Mohallah, Qasba Mohallah, Sardarpura Road and Mohallah Lal Masjid, and caused problems for the residents.
Court also observed that it would not intervene in the policy matters of the government
