ICAC lauds Pakistan’s cotton quality

MULTAN: International Cotton Advisory Committee Executive Director Jose Seet has lauded Pakistan’s cotton quality, terming it one of the best cotton across the world.
He said this during his visit to Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association here on Tuesday. He said that the ICAC was visiting the region after 50 years. The ICAC had planned to hold a research-oriented conference at the end of current year to open doors for research and promotion of quality cotton, he added. Jose Seet said that the ICAC hold research competitions on monthly and yearly basis to help boosting cotton production around the world. He said that the ICAC had selected Pakistan on merit for its 75th conference. He also reviewed cotton ginning process in Pakistan and appreciated the PCGA networking. PCGA chairman Shahzad Ali Khan said that the organisation was the only representative body of 1,200 ginners in the country. Ministry of Textile Senior Joint Secretary Robina Wasti, Dr Muhammad Ali Talpur, Dr Liaqat Ali Khan, CCRI Director Dr Sajid Masood Shah and others were also present.
