In a harrowing case of police brutality, a trailer truck driver was beaten to death by a policeman and his friend in Keamari on Sunday.

According to officials of the Jackson police, Constable Shehzad, posted with the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), and another as-yet unidentified accomplice fatally attacked the victim, 35-year-old Riaz Hussain, following an argument at the KPT Gate No 15. Reports said the two men, apart from kicking and punching the victim, also used batons and sticks in the fatal assault.

By the time other drivers reached the scene, the two cops had managed to flee the area and Riaz had died on the spot. The victim’s colleagues took away his body to the Civil Hospital for legal formalities. Officials later said they had registered a case against the two accused and were trying to locate and apprehend the suspects.
