Former federal minister Nisar Mohammad Khan passes away
CHARSADDA: Veteran politician and former federal minister Nisar Mohammad Khan passed away due to cardiac arrest here on Tuesday. He was laid to rest in presence of a large number of mourners at his ancestral graveyard in Sheikhabad village.
He was the father of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) provincial organiser Fazal Mohammad Khan, former MPA Saeed Khan and former Charsadda district nazim Naseer Mohammad Khan.Nisar Mohammad Khan remained associated with different political parties including the PML and the PPP. For years he challenged the ANP in its Charsadda stronghold. In recent years he had become inactive in politics, letting his sons to take the centre-stage.
He was elected Member National Assembly in the 1985 partyless election.Later he was made federal minister for railways. He also served as member of the Senate of Pakistan. His funeral prayer was well-attended by people from all walks of life, including politicians, government officials and notables.
