Nancy Guthrie’s kidnapping has entered into its fourth month, and a former FBI agent has started to comb through the things she finds most ‘interesting’ that the family did with first responders.

The former FBI agent is named Maureen O'Connell, and she explained her thought process to NewsNation.

According to her, “the thing I found very, very interesting was that the family let the first responders know — this is based on the dispatch recordings — that they had no access or control over any of the cameras around that house” and “I just found that strange.”

In her eyes the fact that this was the case is why she’s stressing on this bit of information. Reason being, “in any major missing person or abduction-type of investigation, the investigators are going to cast a wide net.”

For those unversed, the ‘wide net’ is basically them examining criminal activity for patterns, or even tapping into potential sources, or other kinds of information to find leads, or generate some.

As of right now, the investigation into her kidnapping has transformed into a “no-body” murder probe because forensic scientists points to a violent crime. However, the case is not being considered ‘cold’ as of yet, as per claims by the Pima County Sheriff's and the FBI.
