Prince Harry finally receives 'fantastic news' after disappointment
Prince Harry is the founder of the Invictus Games Foundation
Prince Harry, the founder of the Invictus Games Foundation, has received a good news after reports of disappointing update from Australia.
The Invictus Australia announced that the Federal Government has reinstated its funding to deliver sporting programs for veterans and their families over the next three years.
It confirmed the Invictus Australia acknowledges the Minister and Government for recognising the critical importance of their world-leading work, to sustain investment in evidence-backed initiatives that strengthen the health and wellbeing of veterans and their families, which address many of the recommendations from the Royal Commission into Defence & Veteran Suicide.
The charity announced it on X, formerly Twitter handle.
It said, “We welcome the Government’s decision to reinstate our funding to deliver sporting programs for veterans and their families.”
“This outcome reflects a commitment to the importance of connection, recovery and wellbeing for those who have served.”
Reacting to it, the IGF CEO Rob Owen says, "Fantastic news on the decision to renew federal funding for Invictus Australia given the proven impact that sport and community have on veteran recovery, rehabilitation and suicide prevention.”
Rob added, “We are delighted to see continued government support in Australia for this work."
Earlier, there were claims the funding for Invictus Australia‘s national sport and rehabilitation programs has been axed in this year’s federal budget.
