'Ashamed and embarrassed': Britney Spears' DUI arrest sets her on 'the best path'?
It is being reported that the inner circle of Britney Spears is hopeful that her DUI arrest will turn out to be a blessing in disguise for her.
For those unaware, the California Highway Patrol arrested her on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs on March 4, 2026.
Spears was also booked at Ventura County Main Jail before her subsequent release, and she will appear in court on May 4, 2026.
Her manager also released a statement, calling her arrest “an unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable” adding, "Hopefully, she can get the help and support she needs during this difficult time."
An insider told Radar Online that her family and close friends want her to seek professional help and start her “journey to get better.”
"Britney clearly needs help, and people in her world are saying the best path for her right now is rehab,” the source said. “There's a feeling this was a cry for help.”
The insider went on to reveal that Womanizer crooner felt extreme humiliation and experienced an emotional breakdown when California police arrested her.
"She was incredibly emotional. It's been a very hard couple of months,” because she “felt ashamed and embarrassed.”
According to TMZ’s report, the authorities are testing the Gimme More hitmaker’s blood as well as an unknown substance after finding it from her car.
"She tells people around her there's nothing to be concerned about. But this incident, as well as so many others, reveal that simply isn't the case," concluded the insider.
