BISHAM: The district council on Thursday lashed out at the officials of the district administration for not attending the sessions of the council and asked the provincial government to take disciplinary action against the deputy commissioner for undermining the council.
The council, through a resolution, also sought investigation into the alleged anomalies in the Billion Tree Tsunami project. The session was chaired by Deputy Speaker Shereenzada.
The council passed five resolutions. The first criticised the ban imposed by the Forest Department on the quota for locals, saying the locals were facing hardships due to the decision. It asked for immediate lifting of the ban.
The council pointed out alleged anomalies in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s Billion Tree Tsunami project and sought a probe into alleged irregularities. The council, in another resolution, condemned the appointments of non-locals against the vacant positions in the Health Department in the provincial assembly constituency PK-87.
Through another resolution the council asked the provincial government to cancel the test taken through the National Testing Service (NTS) for recruitment of primary schoolteachers on November 20 and demanded investigation into the alleged irregularities in the test. The council through two separate resolutions demanded issuance of drug licence to the successful candidates and condemned the killing of cabdriver Inayatullah. The session was prorogued for an indefinite period.
