ZTBL win BB women cricket championship
KARACHI: Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) won the Benazir Bhutto National Women Cricket Championship when they defeated State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) by five wickets in the final at Lahore Country Club Ground in Muridke on Wednesday.
ZTBL chased the 129-run target with four balls to spare after losing five wickets.
Bismah Maroof (54) and Nahida Khan (45) played a key role in their team’s achievement. Bismah struck six fours in his 52-ball knock, while Nahida clobbered four fours and a six from 35 deliveries.
Anum Amin got two wickets, while Sumaiya Siddiq and Kainat Imtiaz claimed one each.
After opting to bat, SBP posted 124-3 in the allotted 20 overs with Iram Javed blasting 44 off 50 balls, smashing two fours and a six.
Asmavia Iqbal scored 37-ball 43 with five fours and a six.
Sana Mir and Bismah Maroof captured one wicket each.
Bismah was declared player of the final. Asmavia was adjudged the best player of the event.
