LAHORE
Hot and dry weather was observed in the provincial capital here Wednesday while Met office predicted similar weather conditions for Thursday (today).
The Met officials said a westerly wave is present over northeast Afghanistan and its adjoining northern areas of the Pakistan and is likely to persist during next few days. The officials predicted dust-thunderstorm and rain at scattered places in Malakand, Hazara, Mardan divisions, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir and upper Fata, while at isolated places in Peshawar, Kohat, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala divisions and Islamabad. They also predicted snowfall over high mountains in Gilgit-Baltistan whereas mainly dry weather is expected in other parts of the country.
Wednesday’s highest maximum temperature was recorded at Turbat where mercury reached 41°C while in Lahore it was 31°C and humidity was 32 percent.
