KARACHI: On a day when most golfers struggled with the windy conditions, Amjad Yousuf fired an impressive round of 68 on the penultimate day of the CAS Open Golf Championship here at Airmen Golf Course.
Amjad is now place at the top of the leader-board with an aggregate of four-under 212 in the four-day championship.
Amjad left behind Muhammad Naqas, Moazam, Shabbir Iqbal, Muhammad Munir and Muhammad Ashfaq to share the second slot on the third day. He had six birdies and two bogies on Saturday.
Muhammad Naqas was also in brilliant form and returned with a score of 76 with six birdies.
The leader of first day Ansar Mehmood is occupying third slot with one one-under-par 215. The highlight of Saturday’s round was two eagles scored by Talat Ejaz on holes 3 and 9.
In the amateurs category Ahmed Ali Shah remained on top with a gross score of 224. Taimur Khan finished second with gross score of 225. Ghazanfar Mehmood, with 228 remained third. In the net category Umar Khokhar was first with a score of 214, while Ahmed Baig chasing him with score of 216 for second slot while M Sharif and Ahmed Ali Changezi shared 3rd spot with net score of 220.
In the ladies event, Aania Farooq and Naghmana Atif remained supreme. Aania was at the top in the gross category with a score of 73, Humera Khalid fetched second spot with a score of 77, while Nida Haq settled on third place with 95. While Naghmana Atif finished ahead in the net contest with a score of 75 and Farah Waseem was runner up.
