PA passes Tevta Bill with majority
LAHORE
Punjab Assembly Thursday passed the Punjab Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (Tevta) (Amendment) Bill 2015 with majority vote after all the objections raised by the opposition were rejected by the treasury.
The bill was moved by Law Minister Rana Sanaullah and opposed by members including Khadija Umer Farooqi, Waqas Moakkel of PML-Q, who demanded the government not pass the bill in a hurry and hold a debate so that all the members could give their input over it.
Earlier, the PA held question hour session related with Housing in which Minister concerned Dr Tanvir Aslam Malik responded to the queries of legislators.
Dr Murad Ross, a PTI MPA, during the question hour session expressed dissatisfaction over the working of Wasa while saying that none of the officials respond to the complaints of citizens.
Mian Aslam Iqbal in his supplementary question drew the attention of the House towards a plot, which was actually part of a woman park occupied by a group of people.
