KARAK: Former provincial minister and Awami National Party general secretary Mian Iftikhar Hussain said that the fresh acts of terrorism indicated that the militants had re-organised.

Speaking at a news conference here, he added the militants had changed their modus operandi and they were now targeting public places.

Main Iftikhar said that some 70 banned organisations were operating in Punjab and demanded that a targetted operation should be carried out against them.

He maintained that transient peace had been established in the wake of the military operation Zarb-e-Azb as the country was now faced with the threat from the Islamic States (IS).

The nationalist leader said that 40 countries were funding the IS and added that the terrorist organisation was making recruitment in the country.

Mian Hussain said that operations should be carried out in the entire country under the National Action Plan that was devised after the Army Public School attack. He stressed that the concept of good and bad Taliban should be scrapped and across the board action should be carried out against all the militants.
