Head of Global Reach, International Links and Career Accelerations Noor Raza Cheema was honoured to be nominated for the second consecutive year to represent Roots International Schools (RIS) on the EducationUSA counsellors networking tour.

Ms. Noor was among the three high school counsellors who were selected to talk about the education system, higher education trends and expectations in Pakistan as part of the panel discussion facilitated at Pima Community College.

As part of its mission to provide accurate, current, and comprehensive information on U.S. colleges and universities, EducationUSA at the United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP) announced the EducationUSA High School Counsellors (HSC) Tour 2016 in collaboration with Study Arizona, and Study California.

This tour was partially funded by the state consortiums of California and Arizona, and the US Department of State through a grant from EducationUSA Pakistan. EducationUSA at USEFP selected a total of 18 counsellors from high schools across Pakistan based on a competitive application and interview process.

A network of Pakistani high school counsellors visited the US as part of a two-week professional development programme. The programme was designed to give high school counsellors from Pakistan the opportunity to visit university campuses within the states of California and Arizona, and gain a thorough understanding of higher education in the United States. Counsellors participated in specific workshops on admissions practices, established direct contact with admissions officers, and gained immediate exposure to campus culture and university life.
