President to address parliament’s  joint session on Wednesday

ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain will address the joint session of parliament on Wednesday. This will be his fourth address as president to a joint sitting of parliament.

For this purpose, the joint session will meet at the Parliament House in Islamabad at 11:00am. The president’s address to parliament’s joint sitting will mark the beginning of the fourth parliamentary year of the PML-N government.

The National Assembly Secretariat has started preparations for the presidential address. Invitations are being sent to the people. Political and military leadership of the country would gather in parliament.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will not be able to attend the joint session due to illness.Chairman Senate Mian Raza Rabbani, Chairman PTI Imran Khan, Opposition Leader in National Assembly Syed Khurshid Ahmed Shah, Opposition Leader in the Senate Aitzaz Ahsan, leaders of parliamentary parties, federal cabinet members, chief ministers and governors of the provinces will also attend the joint sitting.

Meanwhile, President Mamnoon Hussain has also summoned the National Assembly in Islamabad at 5pm on Tuesday and the Senate to meet in Islamabad at 10:30 on Thursday morning.
