MANSEHRA: Federal Minister for Haj and Interfaith Harmony Sardar Mohammad Yousuf Saturday said the government was including Quranic education in the schools syllabus of federal and provincial educational institutions.
“We are finalising a draft for legislation in consultation with the provinces to make Quranic education part of curricula to advance in the fields of science and technology,” Yousaf told participants of an Educational conference. The Safa Academy, an orphanage trust, had organised the event.
He said that his ministry had constituted a council comprising Ulema and Mashaikh for the purpose. He said the council would guide the government how to introduce Islamic teachings in its affairs to serve the people.
He said that education, particularly scientific and technical education was key to development and prosperity of a country.
“That’s why the government introduced major changes in the previous education policy to bring the country on a par with the developed countries,” he added.
The minister asked the participants to pray for the health and speedy recovery of Prime Minster Nawaz Sharif.
