KARACHI: Pakistan Navy’s Minhal Sohail, who is set to represent Pakistan at Rio Olympics, won the gold medal in air rifle category on Monday.
She scored 614 in the final to win gold, while Navy’s Mehak Fatima scored 595.1 to grab silver and Army’s Naheeda Naqvi scored 566.8 for bronze medal on the third day of the 23rd National Shooting Championship at PN Shooting Range Karsaz here.
Earlier, in the qualification round of 10m air rifle (women) Minhal scored 411.3; Mehak 396; Army’s Captain Naheeda 387.4; Navy’s Aqsa Ghufran 387.6; Navy’s Nadia Saeed 388.6; Army’s Sidra Maryam 384.4; PAF’s Ayesha Noor 382.8; and Sindh’s Alizeh Babar 379.
According to the final tally of medals, Navy won 16 gold, eight silver, and four bronze medals. Army won two gold, six silver, and six bronze medals.
PAF won three silver and five bronze medals. Sindh won one silver and one bronze medal. HEC and Punjab won one bronze medal each. Balochistan and FRA did not win any medals.
