Youth Drama Festival starts at PNCA

A week-long Youth Drama Festival 2016, organised by Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA), starts at PNCA auditorium.

During the week-long drama festival a number of educational institutions including universities and colleges are presenting with their stage plays.

Various theatre groups will also perform during the festival with their plays based on social issues, said an official of PNCA. Around eight plays will be staged at the festival while best plays will be awarded in various categories.

Besides giving quality entertainment the event will also promote healthy activities among the youngsters and revive the concept of theatre in the twin cities with theme of promoting peace love and harmony.

The drama festival is part of PNCA s activities to introduce the trend of theatre in the twin cities and promote the concept of thoughtful theatre.

The stage plays an important role in highlighting and resolving social issues with correction of society through humour, thoughtful and artistic expressions, PNCA official said.  He said that stage drama is a strong medium of education which plays an important role in transforming the societies with reflection and identification of social evils.
