Girl raped, tortured to death by ‘faith healer’

BUREWALA: A 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped and tortured to death by a fake pir at Kikarwala Kho, Sandhlianwali.

Talking to journalists here on Wednesday, Mazhar Farid Malka advocate and social activist Dr Waryam said a fake pir, Jindwada, came to Chak 56/12L about five days ago. Bhagan Bibi, wife of Muhammad Yaseen Malka, took her 16-year-old daughter Sara, a patient of stomach and mental disorder, to the fake pir for spiritual remedy. Pir Jindwada told Bhagan Bibi that her daughter was overpowered by giants and asked her to come to his residence along with her daughter as four days were required for spiritual process, they claimed. Bhagan Bibi followed Pir Jindwada and accompanied him along with her daughter to his residence at Kikarwala Kho where he kept Sara and her mother in separate rooms.

Mazhar Farid and Dr Waryam alleged that Pir Jindwada raped the girl for four days and whenever the girl raised alarm he told Bhagan Bibi he was dealing with giants. In the meantime, the girl’s condition started deteriorating and the pir also used hot rods on her body, they added. On May 9, Pir Jindwada told Bhagan Bibi that her daughter had expired as giants broke her neck. Considering the death as God’s will, the family brought the body to the village and buried there.

Mazhar Farid Malka advocate and social activist Dr Waryam have demanded the Sahiwal district administration and the police take action against the fake pir and also probe the matter.
