Girl sold in Rs 700,000 by stepbrother, uncle

MALAKWAL: A 20-year-old girl was allegedly sold in Rs 700,000 to a man by her stepbrother and uncle at Mauza Khizar.
Talking to media at the Malakwal Press Club, Rehmat Bibi, widow of Bati Khan and a resident of Mauza Khizar, alleged that her brother and stepson abducted her daughter Samreen and sold her to alleged outlaw Abbas in Rs 700,000. She told that she had arranged the marriage of Samreen of her choice on May 15, 2016, and all the arrangements had been finalised, but the accused allegedly abducted her. She said that the police had registered a case but did not take action to recover her abducted daughter. Rehmat Bibi threatened to set ablaze her in case of not recovering her daughter. When contacted, investigation officer Muhammad Iqbal said that one accused was arrested while raids were being conducted to recover the abducted girl.
