Four shot dead in Faisalabad incidents

FAISALABAD: Four people were murdered in separate incidents here on Monday.

Accused Tariq and Zahid allegedly shot their uncle Shahid Ali dead over a property dispute at Chak 116/JB Chak Jhumra. In another incident, Arfa Irfan, a 10th class student of Rachna Town, was allegedly shot dead by accused Shahzeb on resistance during an alleged rape attempt. In yet another incident, Muhammad Arif and Muhammad Sadiq were shot dead by unidentified armed persons at Chak 223/RB. Police have registered separate cases.

MURDERER GETS DEATH ON TWO COUNTS: Gojra Additional Sessions Judge Arif Mahmood Khan Niazi on Monday awarded death sentence on two counts and Rs 100,000 fine to a man in a double murder case.

According to prosecution, Javed Iqbal along with Inayat and Shahid had murdered Fatima Bibi and Muhammad Hanif of Chak 433/JB Gojra. The court acquitted Inayat and Shahid by giving them benefit of the doubt. Meanwhile, a court awarded life imprisonment and Rs 100,000 fine to Muhammad Imran of Chak 424/GB for allegedly murdering Qaisar Qazi over some dispute.

 

‘Imran creating hurdles in completion of CPEC’

FAISALABAD: Former MNA and Faisalabad Municipal Corporation Mayor Ch Sher Ali has alleged that PTI chief Imran Khan is creating hurdles in the completion of the China-Pak Economic Corridor.

In a statement issued here on Monday, Ch Sher Ali alleged that Imran Khan was pursuing the politics of disintegration of the country. He said that if Imran Khan and his workers try to go to Raiwind, the PML-N workers would go to Bani Gala. He said that PM Nawaz Sharif had already made a judicial commission but thee PTI was still demanding resignation from the elected PM, which was unjustified.
