Some MNAs who declared their foreign assets to ECP

ISLAMABAD: Some of the members of the National Assembly own properties and businesses abroad as per the assets details of MPs released by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). Owning properties and businesses abroad by Pakistanis has gained significance in the wake of recently released Panama Papers. However, these assets are legal as they are properly declared.

As per the details issued by the ECP, Anusha Rehman, Mukhdoomzada Syed Basit Ahmad Sultan Bokhari; Jaffar Iqbal from Gujrat; Mir Amir Ali Khan Magsi, Pir Syed Sadruddin Shah Rashidi, Dr Fehmida Mirza, Malik Asad Sikender, Sohail Mansoor Khawaja, Farhana Qamar and Shakeela Khalid Luqman are among those who have declared that they have properties or businesses abroad. Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif has declared that he has bank accounts in UAE.

Ex-Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Amir Haider Hoti has declared that he has sold 24 % shares of Al-Auqaab Transport Dubai to his brother for 170000 Dirhams. These shares were in his wife’s name. Khail Zaman of PTI from NA-16 has declared that he has real estate business in Ajman UAE.

Jaffar Iqbal of PML-N from NA-106 has told the ECP that he owns a flat in Oslo, Norway worth 2900000 NKR. Khawaja Muhammad Asif, federal minister for water and power has shown that he two bank accounts in UAE.

Mukhdoomzada Syed Basit Ahmad Sultan Bokhari of PML-N has told the ECP that he has 16 % shares in a company in Dubai. Mir Amir Ali Khan Magsi from NA-206 owns a flat in Dubai. Pir Syed Sadruddin Shah Rashidi from NA-216 has property in UK which is in his spouse’s name. he alos has a flat in London which is in the name of his dependent. Dr Fehmida Mirza has an apartment in London worth Rs 88 million. She also has a bank account in Barcelona, Spain.

Malik Asad Sikender from NA-231 has two flats in Hong Kong and one flat in Burj Khalifa, Dubai.

MQM’s Sohail Mansoor Khawaja has declared that he has two flats in Ajman, UAE; one apartment in London; one apartment in Canada in the name of wife; he also owns Lot number 18, Crane borne Chase Whit church stouville, Canada. He is also owner of unit no. 12, 9088 Holston Court, Burnaby B.C. Canada.

PML-N’s minister Anusha Rehman’s spouse owns a house in UK. MNA Farhana Qamar has declared that she has a home in UK and shares in Outwoods Engineering Services Ltd. MNA Shakila Khalid Luqman Chaudhary has declared that a medical supply distribution company Cen-Med Enterprises, New Brunswick, Canada belongs to her. Another company precision medical devices in Canada is also hers. A real estate company and boxing and fitness club is also owned by her spouse.
