LAHORE
Minister of State for Education Baleegh-ur-Rehman called on Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif here on Sunday.
Talking on the occasion, the chief minister said that revolutionary steps had been taken for promotion of quality education in the province. He said that Danish schools equipped with latest educational facilities had been established in backward areas. He said that Danish school system was helping in promotion of education and curbing the trend of extremism. The chief minister said that besides education, free boarding and lodging facilities were being provided to students in these schools. He said that 1.5 lakh brilliant students facing financial constraints were getting education through Punjab Education Endowment Fund.
He said that only education was the fastest way to rapid development and the Punjab government had made promotion of education its topmost priority. He said that reforms programme in education sector was yielding positive results.
