IIU staff association gets new members
Islamabad
The newly-elected office-bearers of International Islamic University Academic Staff Association for session 2016–17 took oath of their respective offices on the university’s main campus on Tuesday.
IIU President Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh was the chief guest of the oath-taking ceremony which was attended by the academia from male and female faculties of the university.
On the occasion, IIU president took oath from the newly elected panel which included Prof. Dr. Zafar Iqbal (President), Dr. Faiz Ur Rahim (VP), Dr. Amna Mehmood (VP), Shahzad Ashraf Chaudhry (General Secretary), Ahsan Bashir (Joint Secretary), Mrs. Taima Sabeeha (Joint Secretary female), Sakhi Jan Khalil (Information Secretary), Dr. Rukhsana Tariq (Information Secretary female) and Zaheer Ud Din Behram (Finance Secretary).
In his speech, IIU president thanked all former ASA office-bearers specially, President Dr. Zafar Iqbal, for his continuous and sincere efforts for the development of the faculty and university’s academic progress. He also urged the faculty members to take forward the mission of university and work hard day and night to bring the university in front line amongst the international community.
He emphasised on improvement of individual’s performance to fill the research gap and deliver to the society. Dr. Al-Draiweesh offered his full support and resources to academia.
In his speech, Dr. Zafar Iqbal, thanked the house for cooperation and support. He also thanked IIU president and other officials for taking interest and solving the faculty issues. He also highlighted the current issues and requested the chief guest to address the problems on priority basis.
During the ceremony, newly elected ASA General Secretary Shahzad Ashraf Chaudhry put forth the issues to be addressed on priority in upcoming session. Shields were presented to all former presidents and committee members of session 2015-16 for their achievements.
