177 bodies handed over to heirs

KARACHI: Over 177 out of 259 bodies of Karachi garment factory victims have been handed over to the heirs after identification, Geo News reported.

 

According to Sindh Health Department, 236 male and 23 female are among the victims, adding 164 bodies of male and 13 female bodies have been handed over to the families after identification.

 

Identification of 82 victims including 72 men and 10 women is yet to be ascertained.

 

Sindh Health Department has set up three DNA camps to collect samples from the families of the victims of the tragic Baldia Town garment factory fire.

 

The samples will be used to identify the victims and the camps have been set up at Jinnah Hospital, Abbasi and Civil Hospital.

 

The fire which broke out in the garment factory on Tuesday claimed over 250 lives and is the biggest industrial disaster in the history of Pakistan.
