Lesco cuts power supply to defaulter departments
LAHORE: Lesco Thursday started action against defaulter government departments and disconnected their electricity supply on account of non-payment of electricity bills worth millions of rupees. It disconnected the electricity supply of Kot Lakhpat Jail, Punjab Assembly, Punjab Cooperative Board, Assistant Director Regional Passport Office, DG Health, Dental College, TMA Aziz Bhatti Town, AIG Finance Police, Irrigation Department and others. According to Lesco, Kot Lakhpat Jail is defaulter of Rs62 million, TMA Aziz Bhatti Town Rs13 million and AIG Finance Office Rs700,000. Lesco Chief Executive Mujahid Pervaiz Chattha said operation against private defaulters was already continuing. The operation against defaulter govt departments has been started for the recovery of arrears and would continue till the recovery of the outstanding bills.
