Those with guns should wage democratic struggle: Malik
Says no problem can be solved at gunpoint

KALAT: Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch has once again invited those with guns to wage a democratic struggle and provide assistance and cooperation for a peaceful and developed Balochistan because no problem can be solved at gunpoint.
He said this at the opening ceremony of Kalat Sports and Cultural Festival here on Sunday.
Provincial adviser Khalid Langav, a member of the Working Committee of the National Party, Rasheed Baloch, and others also spoke on the occasion.
The chief minister also announced Rs2 million for the Jashn-e-Kalat as well as Rs2 million for the heirs of the Levies personnel martyred on Saturday and employment for three of his relatives.
He also announced four buses for the students and teachers of the Girls School, construction of a new building for the Model School in Kalat, setting up of a picnic point at Harboi, building of dams in Kalat by the federal and provincial governments, a big cricket stadium and other projects.
The chief minister claimed that owing to his government’s positive policies the situation in Balochistan had improved.
“Today’s situation is due to the efforts of the present coalition government. The situation in Mastung, Kalat, Khuzdar, Quetta and Mekran area has improved,” he said.
He assured the Hindu community of Kalat his government’s protection.
“We will ensure their dignity and provide security to them,” he said.
He said, “Kalat is part of our history, and it is incomplete without it.”
The chief minister said the Khan of Kalat and renowned saints belonged to this land.
“Kalat has been the hub of our historic struggle,” Dr Abdul Malik Baloch said.
He appealed to the parents and notables of the area to save their schools from destruction and provide education to their children at any cost.
The chief minister asked the DDOs and the DC to visit schools and suspend absent teachers.
Appreciating the sacrifices of the assistant commissioner of Kalat and the Levies force personnel, he said that the martyrdom of the Levies man in Saturday’s incident was laudable.
He paid tribute to the services of the Levies, the police and the FC for peace in Kalat division.
Acting Speaker Abdul Quddus Bizenjo, provincial ministers Sarfraz Bugti, Aslam Bizenjo and Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal, MPA Prince Ahmed Ali and the Commissioner of Kalat, Dr Akbar Harifal, were also present on the occasion.
