Three children drown in Larkana’s Rice Canal

LARKANA: Three children have drowned within the last 20 days in the Rice Canal Larkana, already known as the bloody canal. Though Section 144 has been imposed, but children continue swimming in the canal. Reports said the drowned children were five-year-old Sasui d/o Nisar Ali Shahani of village Manthar Chandio; nine-year-old Dilbar s/o Ayaz Ali Tunio, of Nazar Muhalla Larkana; 13-year-old student Raja alias Jabbar Domki, resident of Kausar Mill Colony.
20 killed as militants clash in Kohlu

QUETTA: Twenty militants were killed in an armed clash between two militant groups in Kohlu and Dera Bugti districts late Monday night, reported TV news channels. A Levies official said that some people had been killed but the exact number of casualties could not be ascertained so far. The clash took place in Pir Suri Darbar and Han Nullah, the two areas located at the border between Dera Bugti and Kohlu districts. Several militants were also injured during the exchange of fire, another official said.
Ogra proposes Rs4.26 raise in petrol price
ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) on Monday forwarded a summary to the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources seeking an increase in the prices of all petroleum products except high speed diesel oil.According to the summary, the regulatory authority has asked the concerned ministry to increase the petrol price by Rs4.26 per litre, high octane Rs7.30, light diesel 8 paisas and kerosene oil by 67 paisas per liter. Ogra has also proposed to decrease the price of high speed diesel by 60 paisas per litre. Final prices will be announced after the Ministry of Finance’s consultation with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. New rates will be applicable from July 1.

LAHORE: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday postponed his one-day visit to Karachi due to an important official engagement. The prime minister will visit the city on July 1 (Wednesday).Nawaz was supposed to be given a briefing on the deaths caused by the heatwave, loadshedding in Karachi, performance of K-Electric and other matters related to the law and order situation.The prime minister was to visit the Civil Hospital and Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre to inquire about the health of the people who had been admitted to the hospitals after they suffered heatstroke.During the visit, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was also expected to meet the prime minister.
