ISLAMABAD: Community welfare officer of Pakistan Embassy, Saudi Arabia, Mueen-ud-din Memon, died in Dubai where he had gone to spend holidays with his family. The late diplomat was 40 and reportedly died of a heart attack. His body has been consigned to his ancestral city, Hyderabad, for burial.
According to the Saudi media, Deputy Chief of Mission of Pakistan Embassy in Riyadh Khayyam Akbar confirmed the death of Mueen Uddin Memon, who was the community welfare officer at the Pakistan Embassy in Riyadh.
“Everyone at the mission here and in the community is shocked at the untimely death of Memon,” said Akbar. “He was only 40.”Memon had gone to Dubai with his wife and three children for a holiday. He died of a massive heart attack at a Dubai hospital. He is survived by his wife, two daughters and a son.
Memon had been working as a welfare officer for the past three years. He was an engineer by profession but opted to join the civil service to serve a larger number of his countrymen. Akbar said that prayers will be conducted for the departed soul on Monday at the embassy.The family of the deceased went back home on Wednesday and the remains were sent to Hyderabad, his home city, from Dubai on Thursday.
