KARACHI: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Wednesday arrested four more employees of Axact who were allegedly involved in fake degrees scam.
Director FIA Sindh Shahid Hayat said there had been a lot of progress in the investigation of the case. He said forensic and degrees being awarded by them. “But there is still a lot of data to be recovered and we will keep doing it for a few more days till we recover all the data,” he said.
Financial transactions are another important dimension of investigation. In this regard, investigation is underway. Some offshore bank accounts and offshore companies have been identified and they are being investigated.
Record of these companies and bank accounts is being obtained and letters have also been issued to different authorities for seizure of properties in the name of the company and its owners.
The investigators had also recorded statements of various people who had direct or indirect influence in the company. Moreover, they had also arrested four employees of Axact who were identified as Muhammad Rizwan, Associate Vice President, Imran Ahmed Khan, Vice President, Atif Hussain, Software Architect and Adnan Saboor, Associate Vice President. Investigations from them are underway.
