Mobile medical delivery unit launched
LAHORE: Provincial Health Minister Dr Yasmeen Rashid has said the Free Mobile Medical Delivery Unit (FMMDU) will provide free-of-cost medical facilities to 300 to 400 patients of the far-flung areas on a daily basis.
This was stated by her while inaugurating the FMMDU at Gaushala, Bund Road, on Thursday. A large number of people of the area were also present. The minister said that male and female doctors would check up the patients at the FMMDU. The patients could get first aid and all the facilities of general OPD at the FMMDU.
She said that soon 20 FMMDUs would start providing medical facilities to the patients in the rural areas. She alleged the previous government would corrupt which did nothing but deceived the people.
The minister said the facility of free-of-cost laboratory tests for diabetes, hepatitis, tuberculosis, typhoid, CBC, complete chemistry, ECG, X ray, ultrasound and other tests will be available to the patients at the FMMDU. CCTV cameras have been installed in the FMMDU to monitor the performance of the doctors. Details of the patients will be entered in EMR system before providing them with treatment at the FMMDU.
The administrator, male and female medical officers, pharmacists, nurses, ward boy, X-ray technicians, sweeper and other staff will perform their duties round the clock. A special pharmacy has been set up in the FMMDU for providing free medicines to the patients. She said that provision of better health facilities to the people was the top priority of the PTI government.
