KP to donate Rs100m for GIK programme

SWABI: The Khyber Pakhtun-khwa government would initially provide Rs100 million to the Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology for launching of the Energy System Engineering (ESE) programme.
This was agreed at a meeting held here on Saturday with academia of GIK Institute by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser.
Jehangir Bashar, Rector of GIK Institute, Dr Javed A. Chattha, Dr Zahid Ayub president of Isotherm Inc., USA, Dr Haider Ali, MPA Muhammad Shiraz Khan, secretary higher education Attaur Rehman and additional secretary Khalid Khan attended the meeting.
The meeting was told that the new faculty needed a separate building and the provincial government would provide financial assistance in phases for faculty construction, equipment and all other requirement.
“We would provide phase-wise funds for infrastructure and other requirements of new faculty,” Asad Qaiser said.
