MANSEHRA: The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Torghar has started inquiry into the alleged embezzlement of funds meant for 160 development schemes carried out by the Kala Dhaka Development Unit in the district in 2011.
Talking to reporters in Oghi, Shahjehan Khan, circle officer of ACE said that schemes were completed in 2011 when Torghar (Kala Dhaka) was a tribal belt and part of Mansehra district.In 2013, President Asif Ali Zardari gave Torghar the status of a settled district.
Shahjehan said the ACE had received complaints from local people that some schemes were only shown on paper and the funds meant for the uplift projects were embezzled.He said the Kala Dhaka Development Unit had executed 160 schemes of water supply, sanitation, link roads, lavatories and small hydropower power projects.
