PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has ordered an inquiry against Communication and Works Department, Abbottabad for delay in construction of 59km internal roads of Galiyat.
Expressing anger over delay in completion of the Galiyat roads as well as 24km Barian-Nathiagali road, Pervez Khattak asked the C&W officials and National Highway Authority to ensure completion of these roads at the earliest, adding that no excuse would be accepted in this respect.
At a meeting at the Chief Minister’s House about progress on construction of roads in Galiyat, the chief minister said that despite clear orders for completing the roads within nine months and availability of the required financial resources, the C&W Abbottabad had extended the completion period to 18 months.
He ordered C&W Department to ensure execution of all infrastructure and building projects throughout the province within stipulated time as per the contracts and impose penalties against contractors for their failure in adhering to the provisions of construction agreements.
