PEHAWAR: Governor Sardar Mahtab Ahmad Khan has said restoration of peace, rehabilitation of tribal people and improvement of infrastructure in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) is the top-most priorities of the government.
He said certain solid steps had been taken to bring Fata into the mainstream to end under-development of the tribal people. Presiding over a meeting of Fata Infrastructure & Works Authority (FIWA) Unit at the Governor’s House, he directed the officials concerned to take every possible step to ensure the rehabilitation of highways and completion of development works in Fata on fast track.
The governor said the incumbent government was well aware of the difficulties and problems of tribesmen. The dynamic efforts and steps are being undertaken at all levels to redress the grievances of the tribal people and to get rid of their sense of deprivation, he added. Sardar Mahtab also directed the relevant officials of the Fata Secretariat to work in a coordinated manner to ensure the completion of development projects within the stipulated time. He warned that no laxity or negligence would be tolerated in this regard.
