Rawalpindi: Area Magistrate Irum Nazir on Thursday approved four-day physical remand of an accused, Umair Imtiaz, for his alleged involvement in rape and murder of 24-year-old Tehmina Kausar. The court ordered police to produce the accused again in court on November 30.
Both (Umair and Tehmina) contacted on a social media two years ago and later developed friendship.
The accused, who was brought before the court on a stretcher, while recording his statement, said that they wanted to get married but parents of Tehmina Kausar did not agree to their marriage. “Therefore, she committed suicide,” he added.
The 24-year-old girl was allegedly thrown out from the window of a residential flat located on the third floor of a plaza. Police said the girl was allegedly raped before she was thrown out of the apartment.
