The National University of Modern Languages (NUML) is playing a pivotal role in promotion of languages in the country. The embassy of Spain will assist NUML Spanish Department in terms of providing study material and books to give students clear knowledge of Spanish language and culture, said Spanish Ambassador Javier Carba-Josa Sanchez.
He was exchanging views with the officiating NUML rector, Brigadier Azam Jamal during his visit to the university here on Wednesday, says a press release.
NUML Registrar Brigadier (r) Aminullah, Spanish Department Head Dr. Asma Naveed and Spanish Department Coordinator Mercedes Checa were present in the meeting.
The Spanish ambassador said that there are 500 million speakers of Spanish language in four continents and it has become the fastest growing language. He said that the NUML, through its Spanish Department, is playing a key role in promotion of mutual relations between two countries. He assured Brigadier Azam Jamal that every possible step would be taken to promote the Spanish Department at NUML.
Earlier, the officiating NUML rector, Brigadier (r) Azam Jamal, while exchanging views with Javier Carba-Josa Sanchez, said that NUML is the only language university of the country and contributing its share in highlighting the positive image of the country. He said that the university is making all-out efforts to promote Spanish language in Pakistan and the embassy should assist NUML in provision of study material for the department which will assist students to better understand the language and culture of Spain.
In the end, the Spanish ambassador visited the Spanish Department and handed over study material to Ms. Asma Naveed and shared some useful information with students.
