Several students of Federal Urdu University sustained serious injuries during clash between two rival groups of the university, located at the most sensitive road ‘Shahrah-e-Soharwardy, the police said.
The police, however, controlled the situation and arrested over 20 students and outsiders, and shifted them to Aabpara Police Station.
Both the groups used firearms, batons and iron rods during the clash, the police said.
The police, when reached the scene to tackle the situation and to maintain law and order, the chieftains of both the groups asked the police not to interfere in their issue as it was their internal matter, police said and added that they arrested over 20 students involved in creating disturbance in the city.
Both the groups putting blame on each other for attacking, and said that outsiders used firearms.
The university administration refused to comment on the issue, however, the police have registered the case against the miscreants and started investigation.
