Punjab Minister for Special Education Asif Saeed Manais has said people should not ignore special people around them and parents should be sensitised to send their special kids to educational institutions so that they could be rehabilitated through education.
He said this while addressing a seminar held in connection with “International Day of Persons with Disabilities” and was organised by Special Education Department in collaboration with Punjab Inclusive Education Project (PIEP) here on Tuesday. The minister said total number of special people is around two million in the province including 700,000 kids aged up to 19 year. He added there was a need to rehabilitate them through quality education so that they could grow and act as useful citizens of society.
