LAHORE
Punjab Health Department has claimed that adequate medical treatment facilities are available for dengue patients in all public sector hospitals and on the directions of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, best treatment facilities are being provided free-of-cost to the dengue patients admitted in hospitals.
He said that all the departments concerned were taking emergency measures to control dengue outbreak and vigorous dengue surveillance was underway in both the cities.
According to a handout issued here Sunday, the Health Department spokesman said that the officers and the staff of government departments as well as district governments were taking all necessary anti-dengue measures in Lahore, Rawalpindi and Multan. Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif is personally watching the situation and on the direction of the chief minister, Adviser on Health Khawaja Salman Rafique, chief secretary and secretary health are also monitoring the steps taken by various departments.
The spokesman disclosed that during the current year so far six death incidents were reported due to dengue. He said that no death due to dengue occurred in any other city of the province. He said that the patients who died in Rawalpindi included Faiza Bibi, Yaqoob, Anwar Mae, Javed Umar, Naeem (Wah Cantt) and a young boy Saad (Sang Jani Islamabad).
