LAHORE
A young woman allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself in the Islampura area on Friday.
She was identified as Kiran, wife of Aslam of Akram Park, Islampura. It was reported that Kiran was depressed over some domestic issue. She ended her life by hanging herself with a rope. However, her family accused her husband of killing her. Police detained Aslam and shifted the body to morgue.
HIT TO DEATH: A 65-year-old man was killed by a moving train at Railway Station on Friday. The victim identified as Jamal Khan was crossing rail tracks when he came under the wheels of a moving train, resulting into his instant death. Body was removed to morgue.
FOUND DEAD: A man was recovered dead from the jurisdiction of New Anarkali police station on Friday.Police claimed that the man, yet to be identified, was an addict who might have died of excessive use of drugs. Police shifted the body to morgue.
In another incident, a man was found dead in a room of a local hotel in the Naulakha area on Friday. The deceased was identified as Tariq Mahmood. Police said Tariq had hired a room in a local hotel two days back where from he was recovered dead on Friday. Police shifted the body to morgue.
wheelie-doers: City Traffic police arrested 1,248 persons on charges of doing wheelie during a special crackdown against wheelie-doers.
CTO directed the DSPs and sector in-charges to take action against the said violators and submit their reports to his office on daily basis.
gateway exchange unearthed: A team of FIA’s National Response Centre For Cyber Crime (NR3C) Lahore conducted a raid on Ichhcra Centre along with the PTA officials and arrested an accused involved in running an illegal gateway exchange. According to the FIA officials, the raiding team recovered a gateway exchange of 32 SIMS. Accused Ahmed Shehwas was arrested on the spot. Further investigations are underway.
Sanitation drive: Continuing its awareness campaign, Albayrak Waste Management Company has extended its drive for advocating sanitation to far-off areas of Lahore.
On Friday the awareness activity was carried out in Taaj Bagh’s union council 44, company officials said and added that the surroundings were mechanically washed and swept.
