LAHORE
Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Senator Sirajul Haq has expressed hopes that Islamic Republic of Iran would refrain from becoming a party in the bloody conflicts in Syria, Yemen, Afghanistan, Iraq, Kashmir and other parts of the Muslim world, and instead play its role for reconciling between the warring factions. He was talking to Iranian consul in Lahore, Muhammad Hussain Bani Asadi who called on him at Mansoora on Wednesday and discussed different issues of mutual interests. Sirajul Haq said Iran could play a decisive role in resolving the armed conflicts in different countries of the Middle East and Muslim world. He said wars and armed conflicts had always brought destruction and devastations for the warring groups and nations.
He also stressed that forging strong bilateral relations was the only way forward for Pakistan and Iran. Iranian consul lauded the historic, brotherly, cultural and political relations between Iran and Pakistan, and expressed his government’s resolve to work for further consolidating those.
Meanwhile, talking to different delegations at Mansoora, Sirajul Haq impressed upon the nation to rise above regional and ethnic differences and forge unity against the corrupt. Sirajul Haq said that a handful of families were controlling the country’s politics and institutions. They issued party tickets on the basis of their liking and disliking and in most cases, the wealthiest people got the party ticket and won elections on the dint of their wealth.
He said the prevailing election system disappointed people and if the Election Commission did not adopt a totally impartial and transparent electoral system, there would be disturbances.
As such, the election commission should give priority to electoral reforms. He said major political parties coming in power in turns, had always protected one another’s corruption.
The gang of plunderers had been misappropriating public wealth and transferring it to their personal bank accounts abroad.
While their bank accounts multiplied with the passage of time, the plight of the common man worsened.
JI chief said that the Haj was a message of world peace and unity of the Ummah. The Muslim Ummah, he said, should try to resolve its problems through dialogue and mutual goodwill and added that unity of the Ummah was more powerful than the nuclear bomb.
He said the enemies of Islam were united while the Ummah stood divided. Sirajul Haq urged the forces of Kufr to abandon their hostility towards Islam and the Muslims and made it clear that any attempt to push the Muslims to the wall would be foiled.
He said the US had desired to enforce its World Order on the world by force but had failed. Now the world powers wanted to sell their arms and ammunition by pushing the Muslim states into civil war.
He said that in the interest of world peace, the international powers should give up the policy divide and rule and try to create an atmosphere of mutual confidence.
