Additional District and Sessions Judge Mubashar Nadeem Khan Tuesday issued non-bailable arrest warrants for a DSP and six other police officials for not complying with the court orders. The court has issued non-bailable arrest warrants for the DSP CIA Rai Zameer, SHO Shahdara, SI Riaz, ASI Mazhar Iqbal, constables Khalid Jameel, Muhammad Javed, Sajid and Mubashar. The court had summoned said police officials who are nominated as prosecution witnesses in a murder case but they did not bother to comply with the court orders. Their non-compliance forced the judge to issue their non-bailable arrest warrants. The court has directed the authorities concerned to ensure the arrest of said police officials and produce them before the court on next hearing.
rigging case: Election Tribunal Judge Kazim Ali Malik Tuesday again adjourned hearing of an election petition regarding alleged rigging in NA-122 by July 8 (today) for further arguments.
The counsel of Ayaz Sadiq, Barrister Ayaz Sadiq, is likely to complete his arguments on next hearing after which the tribunal will announce the judgment.
Previously, on May 30, Nadra had submitted a supplementary forensic report of the constituency stating 5898 (96.7 per cent) voters out 6123 could be declared or considered valid voters which were earlier declared invalid voters by Nadra on the pretext that CNICs of those voters were never issued by the Nadra. After this report, in the view of Nadra only 204 votes could be declared invalid in NA-122. The report stated that Nadra examined sample of counterfoils having invalid identity card numbers and observed that a large number of these were minor mistakes in writing down the number of CNICs and theses trivial mistakes had rendered an otherwise valid CNIC number into an invalid one.
