Gilgit-Baltistan Governor Chaudhry Barjees Tahir has said the class system in education needs to be abolished to ensure Pakistan’s place in the group of developed countries.
Addressing a medal awarding ceremony by Idara-e-Frogh-e-Taleem (IFT) on Saturday, he said it was hoped that the provincial governments would take practical steps for the promotion of education since the subject belonged to the provinces after the 18th Amendment. Idara-e-Frogh-e-Taleem Chairman Tayyab Virk, educationists and a large number of people attended the event held to recognise the services of people for the promotion of education. Chaudhry Barjees Tahir further said both PML-N leadership and the government had a realisation that only education was a key for the progress and development of the country. —Correspondent
