Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has uncapped the upper ceiling of 482 private schools partnering under its Foundation Assisted School (FAS) program.
A PEF spokesman said the uncapped schools fall in categories of A+, A, B+ and B. and these schools were situated in different districts of the province.
He added the A+ category partner schools could admit 120 more students, A category schools 90 further students, while B+ category schools had been allowed to give admission to 60 more students. Similarly, B category schools would be eligible to admit 30 additional students. In this regard, necessary instructions have been issued to the concerned schools.
“However, these schools are allowed to admit only out of school or dropout students under the uncapping”, the spokesman said while adding the rationale of the policy was to open the doors of education to all needy students who were out of schools due to poverty or lack of necessary resources.
